The weather on your screen

Lots of websites offer weather forecasts, and there are many cool desktop widgets showing what the weather will be like today or tomorrow. But YoWindow (http://www.yowindow.com) deserves a special mention. At first sight, it looks like just another program showing the weather in a separate window or as a screensaver. But it’s the presentation which makes this program original: it depicts a virtual landscape displaying the current weather conditions and the forecasts for the next three days (a mouse-click lets you switch between these options). Tip. You can also view the weather situation in another location. The paid for version (£5.50) includes an eight-day forecast and an unlimited number of locations.
