Facebook and your photos

New layout. Facebook (http://www.facebook.com) has adopted a new layout. The users’ profile page has been changed, inciting both positive and negative reactions. A major change is that the top of the profile page now has a bar showing photographs in which you were recently tagged. With yesterday’s slightly exuberant party in mind, this may not be exactly what you want!

Tip 1. When you move the mouse pointer over the photo bar, a cross will appear in the top right corner of each photo. By clicking on it, you can remove the photo from the bar. Note. The photo is only removed from the photo bar; it’s still present on your photo page!

Tip 2. Do you want to remove the photo from your photo page as well? Do so via the “delete tag” option underneath the photo.

Tip 3. Do you think it’s safer that no one else can see photos in which you have been tagged? In the Account menu, go to your Privacy Settings and click on Customise Settings. Scroll to “Things Others Share” and on Customise Settings next to “Photos and videos I’m tagged in”. Via Customise you can, for instance, specify that only you can see the tagged photos on your profile and photo pages. You can also give individual people access or exclude them.

Apply the above tips for customising the way in which Facebook handles photos you’re tagged in.
