LinkedIn assists you with your CV

LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com) is the place par excellence for developing your professional network. In contrast to Facebook, your profile page is business-related here, and thus also serves as a kind of CV. However, lots of companies still set great store by a genuine CV, and that’s why LinkedIn has since recently been offering an option for exporting your online profile to a traditional CV.

How do you do this? Surf to the LinkedIn Resume Builder (http://resume.linkedinlabs.com), and log in using your LinkedIn registration details. Next, choose one of the eleven templates and your information will be filled in automatically in the different sections. You can complete missing information (via Edit profile) directly in LinkedIn and have it appear on your CV by means of the Refresh button.

Useful? We think so, as you’ll no longer need to update your traditional CV every time there’s a change: you can now simply download it directly from the LinkedIn Resume Builder as a PDF file. On the downside, you can’t create a CV with different content from your electronic profile, although it is possible to shift the layout of certain sections or delete them altogether.

The LinkedIn Resume Builder allows you to export your LinkedIn profile to a CV (in PDF). This means that you no longer need to update your traditional curriculum vitae separately.
