Are you ready for T Levels?
What are they?
T Levels are two-year courses which will be on a par with A Levels and they will provide young people with a choice between technical and academic education post-16 (see Follow up ). Courses in construction, digital and education and childcare will be taught from September 2020 and further courses will be rolled out from 2021, covering sectors such as business, finance, legal, engineering and manufacturing, catering and design.
Pro advice. You can expect to see T Levels appearing on CVs from summer 2022 onwards.
What do they include?
T Levels will provide a mixture of technical knowledge and practical skills, Maths, English and digital skills and common workplace skills.
Pro advice 1. They will also include a compulsory industry placement lasting 45-60 working days.
Pro advice 2. Students who achieve the required components of a T Level will simply obtain an overall pass grade listed on their certificate.
