SAFETY TRAINING - 27.02.2020

Training on personal safety responsibilities

A reality check. UK Power Networks (U) has developed a hard-hitting training video to assist the training of utility and highway workers (see The next step ). The ten-minute film shows a young mum with a pushchair who steps out into traffic because sections of a safety barrier are blocking her way. It explores the emotional impact on the road worker whose omissions led to safety checks not being carried out.

Tip. Although this video has been designed to help train road workers, it could be used in other settings to underline the importance of carrying out safety checks. It’s free to view and therefore worth a look.

A hard-hitting training video highlights the importance of workers carrying out safety roles and responsibilities diligently. It’s free to access and although aimed at utility and highway workers, could be useful in other sectors.
