Are HSE inspectors undertaking normal inspections?

Q. We have been told that HSE inspectors are not completing their regular health and safety inspections at the moment. Why is this?

A. Standard inspections have been replaced with those that are focused almost solely on compliance with coronavirus rules. However, inspectors are still following up on reportable accidents and complaints about health and safety standards on site. The lack of visits certainly shouldn’t be a reason to relax your approach to compliance.
