OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY - 12.03.2024

World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2024

What is it? Every 28 April, the International Labour Organization commemorates the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, focusing on a timely theme related to occupational safety and health.

Themed days. This year, the theme will focus on exploring the impacts of climate change on occupational safety and health. Changing weather patterns have notable impacts on the world of work, particularly affecting workers’ safety and health. Examples of occupational risks exacerbated by climate change include heat stress, air pollution, extreme weather events, an increase in diseases and exposure to chemicals.

Why should you participate? Promoting this event can bring a number of benefits to your business. It shows you take health and safety in the workplace seriously and are not just viewing it as a tick box exercise, but a foundation of good business practice. Your employees will feel their safety is valued, and due to the fact that this year’s theme is on a hot topic, climate change, you can demonstrate your environmental, social and governance (ESG) credentials.
