Lack of health and safety provision for staff

Survey results. A recent survey of 256 safety leaders by sustainability company ERM found that 94% of respondents reported increased expectations from their employees over the last three years, with only 2% believing health and safety professionals are fully equipped to keep pace with the rapidly changing stakeholder needs.

How can you address this? Take the time to issue an employee survey and undertake an audit of your health and safety practices. Make sure that any individual with health and safety responsibilities receives the appropriate and proportionate level of training. Tip. IOSH and NEBOSH provide a wide range of courses that can better equip your staff to manage the changing face of workplace health and safety. For a link to their courses, see The next step .

To match employee expectations, invest in training to equip your health and safety professionals with the modern skills needed to navigate the modern workplace.
