Getting training on the cheap

A money saver. According to the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), over half of UK businesses are failing to make the most of free or low-cost training, available from local Further Education (FE) colleges.

Cut price training. The LSC surveyed 890 businesses to see how FE colleges should be targeting their courses. It found that 82% of businesses don’t immediately associate FE colleges with vocational training, 57% don’t use them at all and 43% don’t know that many courses are subsidised or free.

Benefits. However, the research found that businesses which have used FE colleges have reaped the rewards. For example, 87% said their business had benefited, 58% said it had improved employee job satisfaction and 45% claimed productivity had increased as a result.

Take a look. See what your local college has to offer. Either contact them direct or call the LSC helpline on 0870 900 6800.

According to research, 57% of businesses have never used the cheap training offered by local FE colleges. If you want a chance to save money, contact your local colleges to see what’s on offer.
