Recycle PAYE tables

Not in the post. About this time of year companies expect to receive a package of documents from the Taxman containing tax tables and other information to work out PAYE tax and National Insurance (NI). But this year the package is conspicuous by its absence.

As you were. The tax and NI rates weren’t changed in this year’s Budget and so the Taxman has issued a statement telling companies that it’s OK for them to keep using the 2009/10 tax tables and stationery for 2010/11.

Soft-where? Also HMRC hasn’t updated the software on the employers’ CD, so if you use this to do your PAYE calculations, you can also continue with the 2009/10 version until further notice.

The PAYE and income tax rates didn’t change in this year’s Budget. The Taxman says you can continue to use existing official tax tables and his PAYE and NI calculator for the current year.
