SAFETY MYTHS - 30.09.2013

please stop using safety as an excuse

Daft. The HSE’s Challenge Panel has now reviewed over 200 cases of “health and safety gone mad” (see The next step ). Many of them are hard to believe; for example, superglue is banned and coffee cups must be kept in paper bags whilst on a train.

Tip. Don’t use health and safety as an excuse - the HSE is investing a great deal in publicising their myth-busting cases, so the public is becoming more savvy at spotting the cop-outs.
