ACCIDENTS AND INCIDENTS - 28.08.2014

Production up, accidents up

Warning. The Mineral Products Association, which covers quarries and the aggregate sector, has reported that accident frequency rates on its sites have risen. Its own analysis has shown that the rise coincides with increasing on-site production levels.

Tip. Although this is a particularly high-risk sector, the same could happen in any business. So even if schedules are tight, don’t be tempted to let safety standards drop. Otherwise you could follow in this sector’s footsteps.

The Mineral Products Association has identified that as production levels are ramping up, accident frequency rates are increasing. This shows that it’s vital to maintain safety standards, even when you’re busy.
