New guidance on key information documents

Guidance. From 6 April 2020 new regulation 13A Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/3319) will require agency workers to be given a “Key Information Document” (KID) by employment businesses before reaching an agreement on terms with them ( yr.2, iss.11, pg.9 , see Follow up ). The government has now published useful guidance for employment businesses to help them comply with the new law (see Follow up ).

Example documents. The guidance also includes three example blank KIDs for employment businesses to download and adapt as necessary.

Pro advice. There is one example template for use with PAYE agency workers, one for agency workers paid via an umbrella company and one for agency workers who provide their services via a personal service company.
