Grants for electric cars slashed

We’re all being told to go electric. Aren’t you tempted, especially with the government chipping in to the purchase price with a grant?

Actually, you might want to hold on to your petrol/diesel wheels for a bit longer. The government has slashed the grant to buy new electric cars by 40%. The maximum you’ll get now is £1,500 (down from £2,500) and only on a car costing up to £32,000. Whilst the tax breaks still stack up for electric company car owners, perhaps the numbers aren’t quite as attractive for private buyers.
