Self-isolation scrapped for all travellers

Requirement dropped. On 11 February 2022 the self-isolation rules for travellers returning to the UK were scrapped meaning that none of your employees, including those who are unvaccinated, now have to factor in self-isolation if they take a holiday abroad. This change means that it’s likely you will receive more holiday requests this year, compared to the past couple of years. Staff may also have carried over holiday entitlement remaining which they may wish to use for extended holidays.

Tip. It’s worth reminding employees about the terms of your holiday policy and that they should not book any holidays across working time without your prior permission. You can also operate a policy of granting holiday requests on a first come first served basis.
