Voluntary living wage rates announced

The Living Wage Foundation accredits employers who have agreed to pay a living wage, rather than the national minimum wage (NMW) rates set by the government. Employers who are accredited as living wage employers have six months from the date of the announcement of the new rates to implement them each year, i.e. by 15 May 2022. The rates for 2022 are: £9.90 per hour outside London, and £11.05 per hour in London. This is in contrast to the top rate of the NMW which will rise to £9.50 per hour for the first pay period that begins on, or after, 1 April 2022.
