Be prepared for Olympic problems

An experience! Next’s year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games start with the Torch Relay on May 19. The Games then run right through the summer concluding on September 9. Events won’t just be taking place in London, there are venues based right across the country. In addition, various locations are designated “Travel Hotspots”. Unfortunately, there’s a major downside to this historic occasion: business disruption.

Guidance.Soto help employers prepare, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG), has produced some free guidance entitled London 2012 Games: Planning information for businesses. Not only does it provide basic information on staffing issues, homeworking, avoiding travel disruption, safety and security, it explains which areas will be affected and who to contact if you require more detailed advice. It’s 29 pages long and certainly worth a look.
