CORONAVIRUS - 04.02.2021

Construction coronavirus guidelines updated

Changes. In January 2021 the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) updated its site operating procedures for coronavirus (see The next step ). The guidelines are based on government guidance and sites in England are expected to follow them.

Updates. As before, the document covers when to go to work, travel, site access points, hand washing, canteens, changing facilities and rules for close working. The amendments are minor. For example, an update to the section on self-isolation.

Links. Rather than list all the government guidance detail there are now links to the relevant web pages. Another change is to remove the requirement to display a QR code in site canteens, consistent with current government policy.

Tip. One very useful resource highlighted by the CLC is the Build UK flowchart which explains the actions to take in response to a positive case. Have this to hand should you require it (see The next step ).

The Construction Leadership Council has updated its coronavirus guidelines. If you’re involved in the sector you should familiarise yourself with the latest version. Also make use of the Build UK flowchart on what to do if there’s a positive case on site.
