How to transfer files from PC to Android smartphone
Portable
Sometimes you want to be able to view photos or videos that are stored on your computer on your smartphone, or perhaps you want to continue working on a Word file that you created on your computer at the office. What’s the easiest way to transfer these files to your Android smartphone?
Using a USB cable
The most commonly used method is via a USB cable, and this method is ideal for transferring a large number of files. As soon as you connect, you will be asked Allow your Computer to access your Android ? When you tap Allow , your smartphone will become visible in your Windows 10 File Explorer, showing the contents of your smartphone and any SD card it contains. You can now simply drag and drop files from your computer to your smartphone. This works in almost the same way on a Mac, although you will need to install Android File Transfer ( https://www.android.com/filetransfer ) on your Mac first.
Via cloud storage
You can use a cloud storage service such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive. Simply upload the files from your computer to your online storage space. After installing the corresponding cloud device on your smartphone, you can access or download the files from your cloud storage directly on your smartphone. For transferring a single file, you could simply e-mail the file to yourself from your computer and then download it to your smartphone. However, this is only possible if the attachment is small, otherwise you will have to use a dedicated service such as WeTransfer ( http://wetransfer.com ).
Using Bluetooth
For transferring a couple of small files, Bluetooth is a good option, although it’s slower than Wi-Fi. You don’t have to install anything, you just connect your computer to your smartphone via Bluetooth. In your Windows 10 Settings , search for Bluetooth , turn on the Bluetooth switch (make sure it’s active on your smartphone as well) and click on Add Bluetoothor Other Device . Pair with your smartphone and then choose Send or Receive Files via Bluetooth . Press Send Files and choose the files you want to send to your smartphone. These files will then be available in the Bluetooth folder, but by using a file manager app on your Android smartphone, you can easily move them to the appropriate folder.
Using Wi-Fi
If you often need to transfer a large number of files and your computer and smartphone are connected to the same wireless network, Wi-Fi is the best option. After installing the Portalby Pushbullet app ( http://portal.pushbullet.com - also for iOS) on your smartphone, open any web browser on your computer and point it to the http://portal.pushbullet.com site. You will see a QR code that you should scan using the Portal app on your smartphone. This establishes a temporary wireless connection between your computer and your smartphone. You can now drag and drop files onto your browser window; they will be uploaded immediately to your smartphone. Music files will be sent to your Music folder, images to your Photos folder, and all other files to the Portal folder.
